Homecoming
Lockwood High School will be celebrating its football Homecoming on Friday, September 19. Alumni groups are encouraged to include the Homecoming festivities in your weekend plans! Kick-off is at 7pm with coronation at halftime.
Friday Evening Beer Garden at Prairie Station
Stop by Prairie Station before & after the Homecoming festivities for outdoor dining, lawn games and a beer garden, 5-11pm! Food service stops at 9pm, beer garden closes at 11.

Games, Food & More
As always, we'll have food and entertainment throughout the day. But, this year, we're excited to announce our inflatables & bounce houses will be open longer! We're extending the fun into the evening hours, and all will still be covered by a $5 wristband. Dade County Art Connect will be offering face painting during the day, and Timi the Balloon Twister will be adding additional fun at night! Inflatable hours will be 10:30 am-3 pm and 4 pm -7 pm, right up to the start of the 4H Glow Run! Wristbands can be purchased the day of at the tent at the corner of the American Legion Hall immediately following the parade, or in the evening from the Student Council. One wristband works for day & night.
Baby Show
Make plans to bring your bundle of joy to the Harvest Homecoming Baby Show on Saturday, September 20, in Lockwood. The diapers-only baby show will take place on the main stage in the Arvest parking lot at 10:30 am (immediately following the Harvest Homecoming parade). Registration will be held prior to the parade, from 9:30-10am near the Main Stage. Entries will be $5 and are open to any baby age 0-24 months.
Car Show
The annual Fred Lemons Memorial Car Show, hosted by the Lockwood Chamber of Commerce, will be held during Harvest Homecoming on Saturday, September 20. Register at Easson’s any time before 11. Awards will be presented on the Main Stage. All entrants will receive a free t-shirt. Participants are also invited to enter the Harvest Homecoming parade, line-up between Simmons Bank and the Lockwood Grade School at 9:30 am, parade at 10 am.
Parade
The Harvest Homecoming parade will begin at 10 am on Main Street and end at the nursing home. Line-up will be at 9:30 am on 5th Street next to the Elementary School.
Hot Wheels Races sponsored by Lost Mill Car Wash
At 2:00 under the Prairie Station tent, the Lost Mill Car Wash is sponsoring Hot Wheels Races! Bring your fastest racers for this crowd-favorite event! (We’ll have some extra racers for those who need them.)
Youth Ag Expo
The first annual Youth Ag Expo was a resounding success, so its back & even better at this year's Harvest Homecoming Fest! This event is a partnership between the Lockwood FFA and Busy Bee 4-H, held in the Youth Fair Pavilion. The Expo will feature livestock exhibits, educational booths and projects, a corn crib, a hay maze, and a pumpkin & mum sale. There will also be “ag passports” for kids to complete. Booths will be open to the public from 10:30am-1:30pm on Saturday, September 20. Please stop by and support our agriculture students at the Youth Ag Expo at Lockwood's Harvest Homecoming Fest!
Photography Contest
The Lockwood Community Foundation Photography Contest is now accepting submissions! The contest will have 4 age divisions: Grade K-5, Grade 6-8, high school, and adult. And there are 3 composition categories: Scenic/People, Animal, or Floral. Photos may be submitted in 4×6 size, 5×7 or 8×10; in black and white or in color. Filters may be used as long as they are on the camera. All photos must be appropriate and suitable subjects. Photos should be turned into the Elementary Office, the High School Office, Lutheran School Office or Prairie Mercantile by the deadline on the entry form. Each Age / Composition Category will have a first-place award of $20. Second and third place will receive ribbons. All ages will be eligible for the Best of Show award of $50 which will be voted by the community. Limit of 3 photos per entrant. Photo Contest Entry Forms can be picked up at the schools or at Prairie Mercantile. Photo submissions will be on display from 9am-2pm at Pink Infusion Studio (next to the library on Main Street) during Harvest Homecoming Fest, with winners announced on the Main Stage at 2:30pm. Be sure to stop in Pink Infusion Studio to check out the displays and while you’re there vote for your favorite!

FBLA Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament
At Lockwood High School Softball/Baseball Fields. $150 Per Team. Must be 18+. 4 girls, 6 guys per team. Game times & payout will depend on number of teams. Contact Mrs. Robertson to register by September 15th: 660-414-5981, arobertson@tigersk12.org, or Register here.
Cornhole Tournament
The Harvest Homecoming Cornhole Tournament will be held Saturday, September 20, returning to the evening hours, start time at 5pm outside Prairie Station. Business Division will be first, followed by the Open Division. Entry fee is $20/team, two people per team. Business division will be single elimination, limited to 16 teams. Winning team will take home the traveling trophy. Open division will be double elimination and will accept 32 teams. Prizes will be paid out to the top 3 teams in the open division, amounts determined by the number of participants. Proceeds will go to the Lockwood CIA to benefit the Lockwood Golf Course. Saturday Evening Block Party
The Harvest Homecoming nighttime fun kicks off at 4:00pm with the bounce houses reopening for the kiddos to enjoy (closing at 7 before it gets dark) and the 4-H Glow Run starts at 7. Prairie Station will have outdoor dining, lawn games and a beer garden beginning at 5! The cornhole tournament will also be held at Prairie Station, with the business division kicking off at 5pm followed by the open competition at 6. The year we welcome Big Ren's, Main Street Pizzeria, and Double Shot Sisters Dirty Sodas food trucks to our block party, so there's no shortage of good food to choose from! The LHS Student Council is cooking up some fun activities for teens as well. So keep watching for more events to be announced!
4-H Glow Run
Registration begins at 6:30 pm behind Arvest Bank for the Busy Bee 4-H Glow Run! The race will begin at 7:00 pm. $10 to enter.
